Today, the whole of the cricketing world came to an utter standstill. The reason? Today, the legendary cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi passed away, due to prolonged illness. He was 77 years old. But, did you know that, besides cricket, Bishan Singh Bedi had also acted in a recent film. The film was filmmaker R Balki's ‘Ghoomer’, which starred Saiyami Kher. The film had featured the legendary Bishan Singh Bedi in an important role. The film also starred Bishan Singh Bedi’s son Angad Bedi. The film is definitely special in more ways than one because, the film saw both, the father and the son in one frame.

In an earlier interview to ANI, Angad Bedi had expressed his utmost happiness whilst he spoke about sharing screen space with his legendary father Bishan Singh Bedi. Angad bedi had said, it (the film ‘Ghoomer’) was indeed a dream come true for him, as to be in the same film and credit list of a film together him with his father, who was not only a legendary cricketer but also an incredible human being, was indeed an honour. He had added that working alongside Saiyami and Abhishek had been a fantastic experience, and that he just could not wait for the audience to witness the magic they have created together.

In the same interview, Angad Bedi had pointed out an extremely strong observation, which was nothing less than phenomenal. Angad had said that, it was kind of ironic because both Abhishek Bachchan and his father Amitabh Bachchan, and his father Bishan Singh Bedi and him were in the same film, which was surely an exciting treat to watch. He had added that, R. Balki sir had brought everyone together for the film, and that he was excited his father would be seen on screen in the film that was dedicated to the sports which he most loved and had contributed to.

Speaking of Bishan Singh Bedi, he was bestowed with the prestigious ‘Padma Shri’ award in the year 1970. Bishan Singh Bedi, who was a slow left-arm orthodox bowler, had to his credit of holding the world record for the most economical bowling figures in a 60-over ODI match.
