​SonyLIV has now become one of the most popular OTT platforms with many movies, web series, sports, and other content in various languages. In the month of May 2023, the platform is streaming several movies and web shows including Thuramukham, Rama Rao on Duty, Garmi, Rocket Boys 2, Nijam with Smitha and Accidental Farmer & Co.

Thuramukham

Based on real events from Mattancherry in Fort Kochi, Thuramukham is a fictional recount of a forgotten chapter from Kerala's history. The film, directed by Rajeev Ravi and starring Nivin Pauly in the lead highlights an important event in the history of India's working-class struggle.

Rio Connection

When the Italian and American authorities close in on three prominent numbers of a organised crime, they head to Brazil with new identities and a new goal- to tropicalize the mafia. This crime-drama series created by Mauro Lima, is in the mid-1970s, and stars Valerio Morigi, Aksel Ustun, Raphael Kahn, Carla Salle, Felipe Rocha, Marina Ruy Barbosa and Brian Townes, among others.

Rama Rao On Duty

Ramarao, played by Ravi Teja is an upright government officer, ready to go great lengths to protect the voiceless. When he’s transferred to Rayalaseema, an investigation into the tragedy in the life of his ex-lover, leads him to a larger issue. The film is directed by Sarath Mandava.

Garmi

Arvind Shukla, a UPSC aspirant's life takes an unexpected turn with an incident in his university. He soon gets embroiled in the world of powerplay, deceit and student politics.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Ghostbusters: Afterlife, a supernatural comedy, directed by Jason Reitman, is the fourth film in the Ghostbusters franchise. Starring Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace,  Paul Rudd, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and Sigourney Weaver, the film is set three decades after the events of Ghostbusters II (1989). The plot revolves around a single mother and her children who move to an Oklahoma farm, which they inherited from her estranged father Egon Spengler, one of the original ghostbusters.

Purusha Pretham

Purusha Pretham starring Darshana Rajendran and Prasanth Alexander, revolves around a missing corpse and a policeman. The film is directed by Krishnand, who had earlier made the critically acclaimed Aavasavyuham.Purusha Pretham, which is set in the marshes of Kochi.

Rocket Boys 2

The biographical series based on the lives of eminent scientists Homi J. Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai, is back with its second season. The show, directed by Abhay Pannu, has Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh in the lead. The rest of the star cast includes Regina Cassandra, Saba Azad, Rajit Kapur, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Namit Das.

​Everything Everywhere All at Once

​Director Daniel's film revolves around a middle-aged Chinese immigrant Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh), living in the US, who is told that she alone can save existence by exploring other multiverses and connect with the lives she could have led. The film bagged seven awards at the recently held Academy Awards.

The Whale

Based on the Samuel D Hunter play of the same name, this psychological drama directed by Darren Aronofsky, has Brendan Fraser playing an obese and reclusive English instructor. He tries to work on his relationship with his teenager. Fraser won the Academy Award for the Best Actor last week.
