Kanguva is one of the most expected projects from the Tamil film industry. Starring actor Suriya in the lead role, the makers had recently unveiled the teaser of the film, further increasing the expectations of scores of fans. While an official update on the release date is yet to be announced, Dhananjayan of Studio Green banner, which is bankrolling the film has shared some updates about the film's progress.

What is the update?
Speaking in an interview, Dhananjayan said that the post-production works are going in full swing. "We are finalising on the 10 languages. In addition, we are planning to release the film in 20 languages for its digital release. We also need experts to dub in those languages and we also have 3D works. The dubbing will also get over in 10 days. All are shaping up well in Kanguva, and Siva is very happy with the output of the work so far. Kanguva will have its release in the next eight months,” he said.
Kanguva is one of the most ambitious projects in Suriya’s career and is yet to get an official release date. However, it looks like the film will see release in the later half of 2024 along with other big budget films like GOAT, Indian 2, Vettaiyan and Vidaa Muyarchi.

Touted to be a fantasy action drama, Kanguva is backed by Studio Green and has music by Devi Sri Prasad. The post-theatrical rights of the film are bagged by Prime Video.
Kanguva’s narrative is said to span across 500 years. Suriya and Bobby Deol are said to be playing double roles in the fantasy drama. The clash between their characters in medieval avatars seems to be the highest point in this tentpole film.
