As the House of the Dragons gets closer to a full-scale conflict, the video for the fourth episode of season two hints at what's to come in the Dance of the Dragons. The season premiere introduced the infamous Blood and Cheese plot, in which Daemon hired two assassins to kill Jaehaerys, a six-year-old son of Aegon and Helaena, as retaliation for Luke's death. After Rhaenyra loses faith in Daemon, Aegon dispatches him to Harrenhal to seize the Blacks' strategic stronghold in an act of vengeance.

The Blood and Cheese plot

The preview for the next Riverlands conflict features Criston Cole directing his army as they march through the landscape. At some point, Rhaenyra decides to send the Blacks' dragons to war.

The third episode of House of the Dragon's second season continued the Greens' and Blacks' gradual buildup to war. Following a disagreement with Rhaenyra, Daemon faces banishment and arrives at Harrenhal. Simon Strong (Simon Russell Beale) gives up the castle without a fight. In Daemon's nightmare, which he experiences while sleeping, a young Rhaenyra (along with an unexpected appearance from Milly Alcock) is seen reattaching Jaehaerys' head. The nightmare seems to reflect the guilt Daemon feels for his role in Jaehaerys' death.

Meanwhile, Alicent is against Criston's proposal to lead an army to the Riverlands, which he sees as crucial to the conflict, while Aegon is enthusiastic about the idea and ready to go to war. Rhaenyra makes a daring escape into King's Landing to speak with Alicent in the Great Sept, her final ditch effort to avert war, as the third episode of House of the Dragon, season 2, comes to a close. While the truth becomes increasingly irrelevant due to the escalating war, Alicent realises her mistake after they talk about Luke's death, Jaehaerys, and Visery's final words.

Legendary battles and Episode 4 expectations

The fourth episode teaser shows Rhaenyra following the advice of her council and sending their dragons to battle. This fight favours the Blacks because they have more dragons than the Greens. The teaser suggests that in episode 4, there will be a huge conflict in the Riverands. The massive fights from Hardhome, Battle of the Bastards, The Long Night, and The Bells—as well as those from Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon—are legendary, and it seems like the fourth episode of season two could join that hallowed list.

New episodes of House of the Dragon will be available on JioCinema every Monday morning.
