What The Hell Navya | Jaya Bachchan reveals why she stays away from social media - 'There's enough that the world knows...'

Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter Navya Nanda discusses her life, and career in a fun banter with her grandmother Jaya Bachchan, and mom Shweta Bachchan on her podcast What The Hell Navya. In the recent episode of the show, the three ladies will be seen discussing social media where Jaya will take us back to the days when she was young and how technology was at a level where they had to schedule the calls. 

Speaking about the types of calls they had to book, Jaya said, "When I was young, we had to book a call and there were two types of calls, one was ordinary and the one was an emergency call. If you spoke to your boyfriend, it had to be an emergency call." Jaya, who was born in 1948, married megastar Amitabh Bachchan in 1973, after dating him for a few years. The couple has completed 50 years of companionship.

Jaya Bachchan on why she stays away from social media

In another segment of the promo, the veteran actress can be seen discussing why she stays away from social media. She said, "There's enough that the world knows about us. We don't need to share on Instagram." It is to be noted that the entire Bachchan family is active on social media except for Jaya Bachchan.

On the other hand, Navya's mom Shweta Bachchan remarked, "I wish we had the Internet when we were growing up. Because it would have made homework and stuff so much easier."

In the previous episode of What The Hell Navya, Jaya was seen schooling the trolls. She remarked that if you want to comment then make sure it's constructive and not judgemental. She said, "If you want to comment, then comment positively. But no, you just give your verdict." To this, Navya told her that these trolls might not even have the courage to speak in front of Jaya. She said, "If you are actually brave, then comment on actual issues and show your face."

Jaya Bachchan is one of the rare actors who does not like social media and paparazzi attention. In many of her videos and pictures, the actress can be seen schooling the paps or people for taking pictures without permission. However, she has her valid reasons for not getting spotted when she doesn't want but the fact that she is a big celebrity, might stay with her forever.
