What! Sara Ali Khan felt 'awkward’ working with Dimple Kapadia on Murder Mubarak!

Sara Ali Khan was recently seen in director Homi Adajania’s Netflix murder mystery film Murder Mubarak. Boasting a star-studded ensemble cast, the film also stars Karisma Kapoor, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Tripathi and Sanjay Kapoor in pivotal roles. In a recent interview, Sara confessed feeling a "little awkward" while working with veteran actress Dimple Kapadia on Murder Mubarak.

Why Sara Ali Khan felt "awkward" while working with Dimple Kapadia in Murder Mubarak

Standup comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi recently asked Sara about her experience of working with Dimple Kapadia in Murder Mubarak. Sara said that while she felt good, it was a little awkward for her, given the close friendship between her mother, Amrita Singh, and Dimple Kapadia. She added that during the shooting of Murder Mubarak, she tried her best to stop calling the veteran actress 'Dimple Aunty' and refer to her as 'Dimple Ma’am' instead. Sara further revealed that although she has spent a lot of time with Dimple aunty/ma’am, the dynamic was very different on set.

Sara said that Homi had created an environment where everybody started behaving like their characters. Sara quipped that during filming she had started behaving like Bambi (her character from Murder Mubarak) while Dimple Kapadia did the same with her character, Cookie. So, when the cast was on set, they were trying to stay honest and true to their characters.

Speaking about Dimple Kapadia's brilliant acting talent, Sara remarked that despite her many decades of experience, the veteran actress would still get nervous before a shot and would ask Homi if she was good or if she needed to give one more shot. Sara stated that Dimple Kapadia is one of those actors who loves to work and wants to do well at her job.

The actress concluded by saying, “That’s what actors should be (like), always wanting to learn and always wanting to do better. Seeing Dimple Aunty, a megastar, do that... what are we (youngsters) even thinking about?”
