RDX is an out-and-out action entertainer that is gearing up for its release in theatres next week. According to the makers, the film is packed with intense action sequences that are responsible for several adrenaline rushes. While all three leads of the film --- Shane Nigam, Neeraj Madhav, and Antony Varghese --- are excited that their film is seeing an Onam release, Antony has revealed that he asked the markers to replace him at one point.
During a recent interview, Antony spoke about an accident that took place on the set of the film. "I still can't believe that such an incident took place. I suffered an accident on set, and it was a serious one. It was so bad that I was asked to rest for three months. Director Nahas Hidayath and the producers were ready to push the shoot because of this. But I told Nahas to replace me with another actor because I didn't want his project to be affected due to my accident. I was also a part of Nahas' debut film, which got stalled due to several reasons. So, I felt guilty about stalling yet another of his films due to my accident. But Nahs, the producers, and my co-actors supported me and waited for me to recover," Antony told Film Companion South.
Antony Varghese on the stunts in RDX
Speaking about the stunts in RDX, Antony added, "The characters in the film are well-trained in different martial arts, like karate and boxing. My character in RDX is a trained boxer, and my fights were choreographed according to the traits of the character. The stunts in RDX are stylised and different from what I have done in my previous films like Ajagajantharam."
