The name and stature of Ravi Kishan needs absolutely no introduction at all. Besides capturing the hearts and attention of the Bhojpuri cinema fans, the inimitable actor also had exhibited his acting prowess in many of recent Hindi films like ‘Phir Hera Pheri’, ‘Batla House’, ‘Marjaavaan’, ‘Bombairiya’, ‘Zilla Ghaziabad’ and many others. He also had a wonderful and memorable ‘stay’ at the Bigg Boss’ house a few years back as he was one of the contestants to be locked inside the house of the controversial show. Even though he did not win the show, but, his chaste Hindi dialects and straightforward replies and his calm demeanour will always be remembered for many years.
Even though Ravi Kishan has always been associated with Bhojpuri cinema and Bollywood for all the right reasons, his recent experience on the Rajat Sharma hosted ‘Aap Ki Adaalat’ really shocked many. It was on this show, when Bhojpuri cinema’s superstar Ravi Kishan opened up about an ‘awkward’ moment of his life, which many were just simply not aware of.
Ravi Kishan, who was in conversation with Rajat Sharma, revisited his past and recalled an incident which really left many in shock. Recalling the said incident when a lady had ‘invited’ him for coffee, Ravi Kishan said, “I can’t name her, because she has become a big shot now. She had said, ‘Coffee peene raat me aayiei”. (Kindly come over for coffee in the night). Ravi added, “I thought that (coffee) is something people prefer to have during the day, so I got the hint and refused”.
He added that, this (casting couch) was a very common thing in the industry. But, thanks to his father’s blessings and lessons about hard work and sincerity he escaped from becoming a prey to such a situation. To quote Ravi Kishan’s words on the show, he said, “Yes…it had happened and this is something which happens in the industry. I somehow managed to escape (the situation). My father had taught me that I should approach my work with honesty; I never wanted to take a shortcut. I knew I was talented.”
