One of the Marvel projects with a lot of intrigue attached to it is What If...?. The fact that it is still a fresh concept, with a vast playground and infinite possibilities, makes it an anticipated watch for the fandom. After the excitement that the first season managed to churn out, the second has been in the making for a while now, with no update on its release. It turns out the studio has finally chalked out a plan for the same, and below is all you need to know.
What If...? was amongst the first few shows that have hit Disney+ from the Marvel mill in 2021. The studio confirmed season 2, but it has been two years since then. It was recently revealed that the show will hit streaming this holiday season. It features a plethora of possibilities and what if a certain situation happened at an altogether different time and in a different dynamic?
It turns out Marvel has now decided to move away from their current release format and give What If...? a fresh one. As per the latest The Cosmic Circus report, What If...? Season 2 will hit Disney+ on December 22, 2023. Which means we are just a month away from the release. What is more interesting is that the studio will not release one episode per week but will resort to a very quirky plan.
Marvel is planning to release one episode per day from December 22 until December 30, making What If...? Season 2 will release yet another special event. Only time will tell whether this new experiment works in the favour of the studio or not. The same will be confirmed with a trailer dropping soon.
Meanwhile, Loki season 2 saw its finale just last week on the streaming. This means the new season of What If...? will release just a month after the Tom Hiddleston starrer. The new Marvel Cinematic Universe shuffle will not have projects releasing so close to one another. The fact that the studio has only kept Deadpool 3 on its 2024 calendar is proof enough.
