Marvel Entertainment dropped the trailer of its upcoming animated series, What If…? and it featured several surprises that are sure to have the fans waiting with bated breath. This series is the latest of the barrage of content coming out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
From the trailer, it can be seen that Iron Man, Peggy Carter, Doctor Strange, T’Challa, Thor, Killmonger, Loki, Yondu and so many more are going to make a comeback. The Multiverse, multiple timelines and variants introduced to us and elaborated upon in Loki is going to be the major focus of the show.
What can be gleaned from the trailer is that the series is going to focus on the most pivotal moments in MCU if they happened differently - Iron Man saved by Killmonger without experiencing the shrapnel in his chest and the humility which made him turn over a new leaf, T’Challa as the Star Lord with Yondu, Marvel zombies, the return of Peggy Carter as Captain Carter and much more exciting stuff.
Most of the actors will be reprising their respective characters, voicing their avatars. We are pretty sure it is going to boggle our minds with the talk of whole new dimensions, multiverses and our beloved characters turning evil with lots of action and twists.
The Bryan Abdrews directorial will also feature Chadwick Boseman’s final Marvel performance, written by AC Bradley. Other voice actors include Tom Hiddlestone, Chris Hemsworth, Haley Atwell, Mark Ruffalo, Sebastian Stan, Michael B Jordan, Paul Rudd, Samuel L Jackson, Josh Brolin, Karen Gillan, Taika Waititi, Jeremy Renner, Natalie Portman, Dominic Cooper, Jeff Goldblum, Jeffrey Wright and more.
The series is slated for a release on August 11 on Disney+ Hotstar. It has already been renewed for season 2.
