WHAT! Akshay Kumar didn’t charge any money for OMG 2? Deets here!

After the smash hit success of OMG: Oh My God, which starred Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, many were eagerly waiting for the film’s sequel, with an expectation that the sequel will be made. Well, even though it took the film’s makers a few years, but, when they announced the film’s sequel ‘OMG 2’, it met with mixed reactions from everyone. The reason being that, while on one hand, the cinegoers were happy that the film’s sequel is being made, on the other hand, it also came to light that the veteran actor Paresh Rawal (who played an extremely important role in the first part) will not be a part of the film’s sequel. And when the film’s trailer was released, again it met with mixed reactions because of the ‘bold subject’ that formed the film’s plot.

But, amidst all this, the film ultimately got released last week and has been received extremely well by the audience. And for those who were upset about Paresh Rawal not being a part of the film’s sequel, were also not complaining as the film’s sequel had yet another towering actor in the form of Pankaj Tripathi in the film which is being spearheaded by Akshay Kumar.

Speaking of Akshay Kumar, it has now come to light that the actor did not charge even a single paise to act in the film. This was revealed by none other than the film’s producer Ajit Andhare, in an interview with Pinkvilla. While he was addressing the topic of the rumour that the film was made on a budget of Rs 150 crore, he said that the reports of the budget of ‘OMG2’ were exaggerated. He went on to add that Akshay Kumar didn't even charge a single rupee as his fees. He also praised Akshay Kumar by saying that, Akshay Kumar had walked with them, in both the financial & creative risk involved in such a courageous film. He also added that it was impossible to take the risk without the help and involvement of Akshay Kumar.

As for the film’s box-office performance, it is soon inching towards the magical figure of Rs. 100 crores.
