Arshad Warsi has joined the Welcome franchise. The actor is known for his comedy and is a popular face in Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal franchise, Indra Kumar’s Dhamaal franchise and Rajkumar Hirani’s Munnabhai universe. He is now going to be performing alongside Akshay Kumar as well as his Munnabhai co-star Sanjay Dutt in Welcome 3.
“The scale of Welcome 3: the cost, the climax, is unreal. It is an insanely larger than life theatrical film which I will be a part of,” the actor told Hindustan Times. The movie also stars Paresh Rawal in a pivotal role.
Not just that, Arshad, who was the original face of Jolly LLB, will be working opposite Akshay in Jolly LLB 3. The movie will commence shooting in January, the actor asserts.
It is to be noted that Arshad was previously upset with not being cast for Jolly LLB 2. Recalling the same, he said that he approached director Subhash Kapoor and said that while he can pull a crowd of 500, Akshay will bring 5000 footfalls. Thus, the makers went ahead with Akshay. However, since Arshad has been the face of the franchise, he is coming back for the third installment of the film.
Arshad Warsi recently made headlines for the second season of his hit OTT show, Asur. The new show is streaming on Jio Cinema and has caught the attention of the viewers once again.
The actor said that there were many projects which he rejected because he didn’t fancy them a lot. Hinting at the wave caused since Brahmastra release, Arshad pointed out how Bollywood is currently obsessed with superhero films which are so larger-than-life they’re ‘bizarre.’ He shares that even though the movies will pay the actor a lot of money, he did not take up the projects because he didn’t fancy them a lot.
Arshad remains tight-lipped about Munnabhai 3, which was reportedly titled Munnabhai Chale America. Previous reports suggested that the film, starring Arshad and Sanjay in the main roles of Circuit and Munna, was scrapped and the project was modified for Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming film with Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki. There is no clarification on any of it, as of today.
