Welcome 3: Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon to reunite after 20 years; Netizens call them ‘Most iconic pair of Indian cinema’

In the 1990s, one of the most adored and hit on-screen couples was Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon. They collaborated on several movies, including Mohra, Barood, Keemat and more. Police Force: An Inside Story was the final project they worked on together. After over two decades, Akshay and Raveena are reportedly getting back together for a film. They're most likely going to appear in Welcome franchise which is reportedly titled 'Welcome To The Jungle'.

A source informed Pinkvilla: "Akshay and Raveena have worked together on multiple films including cults like Mohra. Their last collaboration was Police Force: An Inside Story. It has taken 20 years and a comic caper like Welcome 3 to bring the two of them together. While details of their dynamic in the film have been kept under wraps, however, it is unlike anything they have done before."

The source further revealed, "Welcome 3 is titled Welcome to the Jungle and is an adventure comedy with a big ensemble. The prep work is in progress and the shoot schedule will be chalked out soon. Both Akshay and Raveena are excited about this reunion."

Internet users had no choice but to respond to this news as soon as it was announced. One social media user wrote, “If it’s true, I’m happy to see a yesteryear actress in a lead role and Akshay romancing someone his age. Their chemistry is going to be amazing. Please Bollywood gods let this be true.” While another one wrote, "Most iconic pair of Indian cinema."

For the uninitiated, during the 90s, the Akshay and Raveena also had a love relationship, but they eventually parted ways and began new relationships with distinct partners. They did not, however, appear together in any other movie post this. At the moment, Akshay and Raveena are friendly and have publicly expressed their admiration for one another numerous times.
