Senior NCP leader and former Member of the Maharashtra Assembly, Baba Siddique, was shot on October 12, 2024, by three assailants in Mumbai. Hours after the demise, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the assassination. The gang member mentioned in a Facebook post that anyone who helps Salman Khan or the Dawood gang should be prepared. The gang has been giving death threats to Salman for many years and the recent house firing case was one of the incidents. Now, the report suggests that a web series on the life of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang will be made.
Reports mentioned that a web series based on the gangster, who is currently incarcerated at Sabarmati Central Jail, will be out soon. News18 earlier reported that Jani Firefox Film Production house will soon come out with a series based on his life, Lawrence - A Gangster Story.
Now, the director-producer Anil Nagrath told Times Of India that the title of the web series has been registered with his company. He said, "The title is registered with us since January 2024. And the tradition of registering titles based on current news and newsmakers has been a trend for many decades. But for now this is the only title that is registered on Lawrence Bishnoi."
On October 13, a gang member of Lawrence Bishnoi shared a Facebook post. The post mentioned that the gang targeted Baba Siddique because of his close ties to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and alleged links to underworld figures like Dawood Ibrahim.
The gang member wrote, "Om, Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat," followed by, "I understand the essence of life, and consider wealth and the body as dust. I did only what was right, honouring the duty of friendship."
The post further read "Salman Khan, we did not want this war but you made our brother lose his life. Today the pool of decency of Baba Siddique is closed or at one time he was under MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) with Dawood. The reason for his death was his links to Dawood and Anuj Thapan in Bollywood, politics, and property dealings."
Salman Khan once again got death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang as they demanded ₹ 5 crore to "end the enmity" with the gang. A WhatsApp message sent to the Mumbai traffic police warned that if the money was not paid, the actor's fate would be worse than that of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was recently murdered by Bishnoi gang members.
"Don't take this lightly. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, he must pay ₹ 5 crore. If the money is not given, his condition will be worse than Baba Siddiqui's," the threat message read.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Salman is busy shooting Bigg Boss Season 18 and Sikandar.
