Maru Malarchi
The film directed by Bharathi stars Mammootty in the lead. Devayani, Ranjith, Kalabhavan Mani and Mansoor Ali Khan among others play pivotal roles in the movie which revolves around the conflict between people of two villages. The patriarch of a village gets manhandled when he visits another village owing to a misunderstanding. This leads to a huge commotion and many people even lose their lives in a fight among the two villages. The movie went on to bag a few recognitions at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
Thai Maaman
Sathyaraj plays the titular role in the movie directed by Guru Dhanapal. It revolves around a wastrel who decides to become a people's representative after he gets rejected by the girl who he falls in love with. He goes on to become an MLA in his constituency, but faces a host of unanticipated issues. He finally succeeds in winning his love, though circumstances make him deal with numerous problems after he sets out to indulge in various welfare activities. Meena, Goundamani and Manivannan essay important characters in the movie.
Porkkaalam
The movie helmed by Cheran revolves around a potter whose life revolves around his specially-abled young sister. He wants to marry her off to a responsible man, but his father, a drunkard, stands as an obstacle in his life. He finally finds a groom for his sister, but an unforeseen incident happens, leaving him shattered. How his life changes forms the rest of the story. Murali headlines the film which stars Manivannan, Vadivelu, Sanghvi and Meena in significant roles.
