After cementing her place in Bollywood cinema, Madhuri Dixit Nene’s foray into the digital space came this year with The Fame Game. In an instance of how art imitates life, the star essays the role of a celebrated and glamorous actress in the web series. The makers recently released the full music video of the song Dupatta Mera from the series, where Dixit shows off some of her incredible dance moves.

The song sees the actress in character as Anamika Anand, an actress who has more to her than her glamorous facade. The music video is an array of colours, with a regal and luxurious setting. Dixit steals the show, as she gracefully moves to the thumping beats, along with an array of vibrant background dancers in typical Bollywood fashion.

The drama revolves around the story of a famous Bollywood actress, who suddenly disappears from the public eye one day. As efforts are made to trace the whereabouts of the star, several shocking and closely guarded secrets about the actress start coming to light. The series’ premise is reportedly inspired by the real life story of Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, who mysteriously disappeared from the public eye for about three months in 2018 before resurfacing.

The Fame Game is directed by Bejoy Nambiar and Karishma Kohli. Sri Rao serves as the show’s writer and showrunner. The series is bankrolled by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra and Rao.

In addition to Dixit, the series also features Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Lakshvir Saran, Suhasini Muley, and Muskkaan Jaferi.

The Fame Game is available to stream on Netflix.
