Watch Darshan romance Rachita Ram in Kranti’s Bombe Bombe now

There is no denying that V Harikrishna’s composition Bombe Bombe for Kranti, in the mellifluous voice of Sonu Nigam is a melody worth listening to on loop. In fact, even the first video of the song that the team released as promotion, makes it a nicely choreographed romantic number between leading man Darshan and Rachita Ram. For reasons best known to the team, though, this is not the version that made it to the film. Bombe Bombe, as it turned out, has two versions – one pre-release and one from the film, with the latter in an outdoor setting and Darshan serenading Rachita Ram, while wearing black trousers and flimsy shirts that are either unbuttoned or almost there and show off his ‘toned’ chest.

When the film released, audiences had remarked how unflattering the actor’s look and styling in the song was. It was almost as if choreographer Kula Bhushan intended Bombe Bombe to be Darshan’s version of Suraj Hua Maddham, at least as far as his styling goes. Darshan had been trolled incessantly for the song, a glimpse of which was attached to the film’s trailer. The full video of the song has now been put on composer director Harikrishna’s music label’s official YouTube page, for the benefit of those who actually liked seeing Darshan in that avatar.

Kranti, which was Darshan’s 55th film, was his second collaboration with Harikrishna and producers Media House Studio (Shylaja Nag and B Suresha), after Yajamana. The film released in theatres on January 26 to negative reviews and dropped on OTT even before it completed 30 days. In fact, although the team had announced the film as a pan-India release, they dropped those plans eventually. Kranti is available to stream on Amazon Prime in Kannada with English subtitles.
