The makers of Prabhas’ film Kalki 2898 AD have been teasing fans with a series of updates and 'making' videos. In the latest update, the makers of the Nag Ashwin directorial have released a sneak peek video of the making of ‘futuristic guns' for sci-fi drama. The video series is titled ‘From Skratch’ and the latest episode (the third from the series) was released recently. It is titled Skratch Ep3: Re-Imagining Of Guns.
The sword-like guns of Kalki 2898 AD
The quirky sneak peek video begins with a team meeting via video call to discuss the making of futuristic guns in the film. The video, which is showcased in a humorous manner, shows production designer Nithin Zihani saying, “The gun should not look like a gun at all.” The video then shifts to another team member, who expresses doubts over the functionality of the weapons. He asks, “Will it fire?”
The video gives innovative insights, showcasing the team's execution in crafting bizarre yet intriguing sword-like weapons for the ‘Raiders’ and ‘Rebels’ who are the ‘heroes and villains’ of the film. One of the guns has sword-like features, while another is a machinery-like gun. From the look of it, the props used in the film are similar to those in Star Wars, promising a futuristic action flick.
For the uninitiated, the first episode from the series is called ‘Re-Inventing the Wheel’, while the second is called ‘Assembling The Raiders’.
The production company behind Kalki 2898 AD, Vyjayanthi Movies, has been posting these sneak peeks on their YouTube channel, and viewers have been very positive about them. Many have expressed their excitement over the sci-fi film’s making process, even predicting that the movie will be a blockbuster.
