Watch: A wide-eyed Upendra begins editing his dream project UI

Real Star Upendra is definitely putting together something very special for his fans, who are waiting with bated breath for his next. Having made heads turn in wonder with the title alone, Uppi's next UI has been in the making for quite some time but we hear that the post-production of the film has finally begun.

Not very long ago, KP Sreekanth, one of the two producers of the film, revealed that the team aims to release UI by the end of the year. With the film now at the edit table, it would mean that the 2023 theatrical release is still in sight for the makers. The video of Upendra, the producers and a few other team members participating in the editing process of the film is now being circulated on social media.

Upendra and the entire team of UI have ensured that the storyline and other key details of the film are completely kept under wraps. What we know for sure is that the Real Star himself plays the lead and will be joined by Reeshma Nanaiah, Nidhi Subbaiah and others. Sunny Leone, too, is rumoured to be part of the cast.

Of course, more than the cast, Kannada moviegoers are looking forward to the state-of-the-art technology employed in the film. Reportedly, Upendra has opted for ultra-modern techniques to render his vision, which includes a virtual reality pipeline (like the one used in Avatar: The Way of Water) and many slick VFX shots. The budget of UI is said to be Rs. 100 crores. Ajaneesh B Loknath scores the film's music.

In other developments, Upendra will be next on the big screen on September 15 with the release of Buddhivantha 2. The film comes as a sequel to the very successful 2008 film, Buddivantha, which had the actor essaying a wide variety of eccentric characters. Buddivantha 2, directed by Jaidhev, also stars Sonal Monteiro and Meghana Raj Sarja.
