Prashanth Sambargi has had a rather peculiar second stint in the Bigg Boss house. At the time when it was announced that he would return to the show as a bona fide veteran, many reckoned that his prior experience, combined with his assertive and confrontational nature, would make him a tough contender who has every chance of finishing at the top. In his first go, in season 8 of Bigg Boss Kannada, Sambargi had finished the 4th runner up so the platform seemed perfectly laid out in season 9 for him.

But, contrary to all the initial expectations, he had to bow out of the competition with a below-par performance. By his own admission, Prashanth Sambargi seemed out of sorts during his stay in the ninth season and unlike in the previous iteration, his demeanour was a lot chirpier and affable which, quite possibly, underwhelmed the audience.

"It felt like someone else has taken my spot of being the crusader or the loudest voice inside the house. I too was unable to be that way because most of the contestants are very mature and well-behaved," said Prashanth Sambargi in his chat with host Kiccha Sudeep. In the same breath, he would also acknowledge that Rupesh Rajanna has assumed the role that was meant for him.

"He is a different person and he is playing well. I feel I let go of my position to him," he added.

The main concern, however, turned out to be his slightly-strained relationship with his housemate and fellow praveena, Arun Sagar. Arun Sagar and Prashanth Sambargi go back a long time and the latter expected their stay together inside the house to be a symbiotic one, wherein they helped each other during tricky times. But, unfortunately, that wasn't to be despite Sambargi's efforts.

"I just had too many expectations from Arun because I have known him for so many years. And I expected him to back me inside the house but when Arun declared that we were friends only outside the house but here it was all about the competition, it came as a huge blow to me. Either in team selection during tasks, matters related to food, or even the voting process - I did not see Arun being my friend in any of these aspects. So, I would confront him to find out why he was doing this and when he said without any hesitation that we were competitors first, I was quite hurt by that. He would also single me out as the worst performer on occasions," said Sambargi as he broke down in tears.

He would allude to the fact that being an emotionally dependent person, it was tough for him to navigate the format of the Bigg Boss show which requires contestants to hold their own till the very end.
