From the moment War 2 went on floors in October 2023, action has been the watchword. Hrithik Roshan began filming in March with an intense scene, then Jr. NTR came on board in April, and they shot a fight scene on a plane. As director, Ayan Mukerji is now changing gears. According to reports in Mid Day, the unit will travel to Italy from September 18 onwards to film a romantic song starring the lead actor and Kiara Advani.
Those who paid close attention will remember that the beaches of Positano on the Amalfi Coast in Italy were the setting for War's smash hit Ghungroo. Although Mukerji and producer Aditya Chopra have focused on classic locales like Lake Como and Venice this time around, they have also found new, unexplored spots within these cities that they intend to use in their films.
A source told the tabloid that the Italy schedule will begin on September 18 and go on for about 15 days. The song shoot will take place over the first six days, according to Ayan. The director wants the song to capture the glitz and glamour of Hrithik and Kiara. The opulent production of Pritam's romantic song will be filmed in exotic locations such as Venice, Tuscany, Lake Como, Naples, the Amalfi Coast, and the Sorrento Peninsula. After the number, the squad will return to India by early October, after which they will perform an intense action scene and a few dramatic sequences.
One of the best parts of War 2 is the new coupling of Hrithik and Kiara. The insider goes on to say that the producers have been very careful not to have their images released in the media thus far, and they will continue to do so while touring internationally.
A legion of local Italian security guards will scout these areas before the team arrives. They will also be there during production to monitor the internet for any potential leaks, according to the source.
The story of Kabir Dhaliwal, played by Roshan, an R&AW agent turned renegade, will be continued in the sequel, set to be released on August 14, next year. The director will likely do two more schedules after September: one in Mumbai and one abroad. After that, he would likely call it a wrap early next year.
