Wanted Pandugod, a comic caper directed by popular writer Sreedhar Seepana hit theatres earlier this month. The film starred many notable actors including Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Sudigali Sudheer and Vennela Kishore, to name a few. The film’s story, screenplay and dialogues were written by Janardhana Maharshi. Now, the slapstick comedy is all set for an OTT premiere in September.
Telugu OTT platform aha has acquired the streaming rights of Wanted Pandugod and will premiere the film on September 2. The streaming platform confirmed the news earlier this week. Amidst regular debates about reducing the window between the theatrical release and OTT premiere, it must be noted that the film is coming to OTT two weeks after hitting the screens (on August 19)
Saptagiri, Srinivas Reddy, Deepika Pilli, Brahmanandam, Raghu Babu, Ananth, Pushpa Jagdeesh, Nitya Shetty, Vasanthi, Vishnupriya, Hema, Shakalaka Shankar, Tanikella Bharani, Aamani and Prudhvi play crucial roles in the film as well. The film is bankrolled by Sai Baba Kovelamudi and Venkat Kovelamudi under United K Productions. K Raghavendra Rao presented the film.
In the film, Sunil, who is cast as the titular character Pandu, is a prisoner who escapes from jail and is being hunted by several groups from various corners. A huge cash prize is announced to those who grab hold of him and everyone is testing their luck. The film, largely set amidst a jungle backdrop, has a comedy-of-errors premise, with interesting twists and turns in the story.
The comic caper has cinematography by Mahi Reddy Pandugula with PR coming up with the music score. Noted technician Tammiraju is the editor of the film while Real Sathish has choreographed the action sequences. Kiran Kumar Manne and Yash are the art director and the choreographer respectively. aha’s premiering two other films in the same weekend - Pellikuturu Party and Panchatantra Kathalu.
