Wamiqa Gabbi had a terrific year starring in Jubilee, Charlie Chopra and the Mystery of Solang Valley, and Khufiya; a big-budget film would be the ideal way to cap it off. According to recent reports, the actor will start filming the untitled project after finishing her Tamil movie Genie, which features Varun Dhawan. Rumour has it that Atlee's longtime assistant director, director Kalees, has begun a jam-packed programme in Kochi with the lead actor.

Varun Dhawan's injury delays stunt sequences

As Mid Day suggested, Kalees, who is making his directorial debut with the action film, conducted the first schedule with Varun in Mumbai in August. A leg injury the actor apparently sustained at the time necessitated postponing the stunts until December. According to a source who spoke to the tabloid, Varun and Wamiqa will be filming a month-long schedule in Kerala. It will be after January 20 that the director announces a break. Working title: VD18; the film stars Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh.

Keerthy and Radhika Apte were in Mumbai filming Yash Raj Films' next series, according to the source. Soon, she will be a part of the VD18 unit. Aside from the fact that the main actor portrays a police officer, not much is known about the movie, while rumours indicate that it is a remake of Atlee's 2016 Tamil smash hit Theri. Concerning the appearance of the film's characters and performers, the producers are playing coy.

Wamiqa Gabbi's breakout year in OTT

Wamiqa, who stole the show in Jubilee, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, was a breakout star on OTT this year. Finding her footing in Bollywood has left her hungry for what's to come.

Confirming the shoot, the actor said that it is an exciting opportunity for her to be a part of VD18. She is enthusiastic about working with Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh as Atlee Sir guides them through the creative process. New beginnings were propelled in 2023, and Wamiqa will always be grateful for them. She concluded by saying what a fitting way to close off the year—on the set of her next project.
