Wamiqa Gabbi is getting in shape after putting on weight for her role in Jubilee. Talking about the same, the actor said that it was a deliberate choice to go on a fitness-oriented weight loss quest. Jubilee is set in the 1940s and '50s, so she had to gain weight to play the part. The only thing she was worried about was going hungry, but her fantastic and skilled fitness crew took care of that. Wamiqa stated that it's nice to be able to wear her old clothes again.
In Jubilee, Wamiqa portrays the classic film star, Niloufer Qureshi. Ram Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aparshakti Khurana, and Prosenjit Chatterjee also play significant roles in the show. Vikramaditya Motwane created the well-known series.
The film Modern Love Chennai, in which Wamiqa also appeared, premiered not too long ago. The actor had noted before when discussing the project, that she truly feels blessed that early in her career she has been able to work with such exciting directors!
The moment Kumararaja called, she knew she had to be a part of his life and his way of showing affection. With stars like Anna Hathaway, Dev Patel, and Julia Garner, this franchise has created ripples all over the world. It's thrilling to be a part of the brand for its Mumbai and Chennai installments. The project has provided Wamiqa the opportunity to work with two fantastic filmmakers, Vishal Bhardwaj (Hindi) and Thiagarajan Kumararaja (Tamil).
In Modern Love: Chennai, six of India's most celebrated filmmakers—Bharathiraja, Balaji Sakthivel, Rajumurugan, Krishnakumar Ramakumar, Akshay Sundher, and Thiagarajan Kumararaja—have collaborated for the first time.
Apart from Jubilee on Prime Video, Wamiqa has been a part of other OTT series, including Grahan on Disney+ Hotstar and Mai: A Mother's Rage on Netflix.
She will next be seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's Khufiya, which is a Netflix original film. The neo-noir spy thriller film also stars Tabu and Ali Fazal in the lead roles.
