Those disappointed about Chiranjeevi underplaying himself in a not-so mainstream film like Godfather sans conventional dance numbers and larger-than-life action, his next film Waltair Veerayya is just the mass dose you will need. The 154th film in the star's career is helmed by Bobby Kolli and has him paired alongside Shruti Haasan for the first time. Ravi Teja and Catherine Tresa too play important roles in the actioner set to release for Sankranthi 2023.
Ravi Teja is set to star in an extended cameo in the film. Besides sharing screen space with Chiranjeevi in a handful of sequences, he'll also shake a leg with the 'mega star' for a high-voltage dance number. Filmed in a huge set, it is just the energetic number you'd expect from someone as spirited as composer Devi Sri Prasad. Sekhar master has choreographed the song and one can't wait to see the moves he's designed for both the leading stars. The song shoot was wrapped up recently.
The title teaser of Waltair Veerayya has generated good buzz for the film, piquing the curiosity of the star's fans ahead of its Sankranti release. The makers have ensured that the film has all the ingredients of a masala potboiler. Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers are bankrolling the film and GK Mohan is the co-producer. Arthur A Wilson is the cinematographer while Niranjan Devaramane and AS Prakash are the editor and the production designer respectively.
Chiranjeevi's daughter Sushmita Konidela is the costume designer for the film. Bobby Kolli also pens the dialogues and has written the story. Kona Venkat and K Chakravarthy Reddy have written the screenplay collaborating with Hari Mohana Krishna and Vineeth Potluri. The same banner behind Waltair Veerayya is also releasing Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy for Sankranthi.
