VT14: After Meenakshi Chaudhary, here’s a surprise addition to Varun Tej’s next

Varun Tej is a busy man these days with consecutive projects in his kitty. While he awaits the release of Gandeevadhaari Arjuna on August 25, his aviation drama tentatively titled VT13 is wrapping up shoot at a brisk pace. Meanwhile, he has given a nod to another project, to be directed by Palasa 1978 filmmaker Karuna Kumar. The film is set to go on floors tomorrow.

Meenakshi Chaudhary has already been confirmed as one of the lead actresses of the film. Well, it seems that the film will have a key role to be played by another actress. Nora Fatehi, popular for her dance numbers, has come on board for VT14 and will essay a crucial part that’ll drive the proceedings forward. In addition, she would be grooving to a peppy track as well.

VT14 is believed to be a period saga that unfolds in Vizag in the 1960s. The team is leaving no stone unturned to recreate the 60s milieu through the locations, cinematography and the production design. The film will be officially launched tomorrow in Hyderabad in the presence of the cast, crew. Other details of the project will be announced shortly.

The period saga is bankrolled by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala under Vyra Entertainments. It is expected to be made on a huge budget. The film may have an early or mid 2024 release. The makers are also backing another much-awaited project, Hi Nanna, starring Nani, Mrunal Thakur, Shruti Haasan, Niharika Konidela and others. It is directed by debutant Shoryuv.

VT14’s lead actress Meenakshii, recently seen in last week’s release Hatya alongside Vijay Antony, is already working on plum projects including Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram and Vishwak Sen’s untitled film. The director Karuna Kumar has also worked on projects like Metro Kathalu for aha, Sridevi Soda Center and Kalapuram.
