In a first, popular filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri announced today that The Kashmir Files Unreported, a series based on brutal killings in the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir, will be released on August 11 only on Zee5.
On Instagram, Vivek dropped a fresh poster of the series and wrote in the caption: “11 August 2023 #KashmirFilesUnreported” The poster shows actress Pallavi Joshi and filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri sitting comfortably beside each other, aiming to elaborate in detail about the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
While Vivek wore a black coloured shirt in the poster, Pallavi too opted for formal attire.
On Instagram, Zee5 – the official streaming partner of the series, too, updated about the development in a post that read, “Still can't get over the horrors of #TheKashmirFiles? What if...that was just the beginning of the whole story! Get ready, because @vivekagnihotri is back with #TheKashmirFilesUnreported, premiering 11th August only on #ZEE5 @pallavijoshiofficial @iambuddha_films #TriptiKappuSharma #TheKashmirFiles @zee5global”
This development comes more than a year after The Kashmir Files released theatrically and ended up becoming a blockbuster at the box office – as it minted over Rs 350 crores in India.
For those who don’t know, let us tell you that The Kashmir Files is a 2022 drama film, written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri. The film presents a fictional storyline centered around an incident in the year 1990, wherein Kashmiri Hindus were allegedly compelled to flee away from the Jammu and Kashmir and reside somewhere else in India.
The movie features popular actors Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi in key roles. The project was released on March 11, 2022.
Meanwhile, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s next directorial, The Vaccine War, based on the prevalence of the COVID-19 pandemic in India, will be released theatrically soon.
