Vivek Oberoi’s acting career has not been a steady path. He has tasted success as well as flops alternatively. Though his debut made him a star, he had to face a sudden fall, until he could make a second innings with the film Shootout At Lokhandwala.
In a recent chat with koimoi.com, Vivek revealed that he did not receive any projects for more than a year after the success of Shootout At Lokhandwala. He added that he was surprised with the industry’s behaviour. He was being nominated and congratulated for the movie, yet he was not called for further works because of some ‘pressure’. “I sat at home for a year and four months after the success of Shootout At Lokhandwala,” the actor said.
He continued saying that he created his own empire and brand as he was disappointed with the industry. It gave him an economic boost, after which Vivek resumed to work with some interesting people who were willing to work with him. The team also happened to have some novel ideas to offer.
In another interaction with Hindustan Times, he had also shared a big complaint against Bollywood. He was not really pleased with the industry not opening up to new talents. He had also called the place ‘an exclusive club’ where people are getting importance for their surname and the lobby they abide by.
Meanwhile, the actor is currently seen in the Amazon Prime Video series Inside Edge 3. The third season of the show was released recently, which has been receiving much positive responses. The series also features Richa Chadha in a lead role.
