Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War to star Nana Patekar in the lead role, more details inside

The Kashmir Files by Vivek Agnihotri was a huge success in 2022. It was a surprise hit because the movie, which apparently cost only Rs. 15 crores to produce, only generated Rs. 3.55 crores in its first week and ended up making Rs. 252.90 crores throughout its whole running period. As a result, there are high hopes for Vivek's upcoming movie, The Vaccine War. The movie was first revealed by Vivek Agnihotri a few months ago, and production started two weeks ago.

Now, the casting details of The Vaccine War, which was kept under wraps till now is finally out. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The Vaccine War stars Nana Patekar in the lead. He has a very important and well-fleshed-out character. Nana sir is putting his heart and soul into playing his character and he’s happy shooting for the film.”

The source also stated that in addition to Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Vivek Agnihotri's wife, also appears in The Vaccine War. Pallavi Joshi recently made a memorable impression on audiences with her performance in The Kashmir Files. The cast of the movie also includes Divya Seth, a veteran actress, Gopal Singh, who most recently had a prominent role in Madhur Bhandarkar's India Lockdown (2022), and Gopal Singh. In Lucknow, the movie is currently being filmed.

The Vaccine War is about India's effective vaccination programme against the Covid-19 threat, as the name suggests. The film is all set to release on Independence Day, 2023.

Meanwhile, today, on January 1, Nana Patekar turns a year older. He was last seen in the Tamil movie Kaala (2018), which also starred Rajinikanth. He might appear in as many as 3 movies in 2023. In addition to The Vaccine War, he also stars as the lead in Ananth Narayan Mahadevan's film The Confession. He also featured in Chaal Jeevi Laiye, the popular Gujarati film's Marathi version (2019).
