It looks like Vishal's upcoming film, Mark Antony, will release as planned on September 15. There has been confusion about the date after the court issued a stay on the release. The film, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, also has SJ Suryah as the leading man.
Mark Antony gets U/A certificate
Today, Vishal's production house, Vishal Film Factory announced that the film was indeed releasing on the earlier mentioned date and that the time travel film has been censored with U/A certificate. The production house's tweet read, "#MarkAntony Censored with U/A Releasing WORLDWIDE in Theatres from Sep 15 #MarkAntonyCensoredUA #MarkAntonyFromSep15 #WorldOfMarkAntony (sic)." This update has quashed the rumours about the postponement in the release date.
Court issues stay on the film?
It was heard that Vishal owed a sum to Lyca Productions, and the production house had approached the court requesting the stay. However, the film's producer Vinod Kumar, called it a baseless rumour and said that he would take legal action against the television channel that issued the 'false' news.
Mark Antony gets a solo release on Vinayagar Chaturthi
The makers of Chandramukhi 2 had recently announced that the film's release was postponed by a week. Lyca Productions's tweet on their social media handle read, "Chandramukhi-2 release date has been pushed to September 28 due to technical delays. Vettaiyan & Chandramukhi will be back fiercer than ever. See you at the theatres with an extra special treat (sic)." Since Mark Antony is the only film to release this week, Vishal's film is set to occupy a maximum number of screens.
