Vishal has been aggressively promoting his upcoming film Laththi across Tamil Nadu. The actor, who began his promotional tour in Tamil Nadu, covered Trichy, Madurai, Salem and Coimbatore and is now in Mysore. He will also be heading to Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana later. The actor has now revealed that the promotions have helped underprivileged students get free seats at two institutions.

Vishal revealed on his social media handle, "Delighted to say, my Tour promoting #Laththi & #Laatti has paved a path to get 10+5 #FreeSeats for under privileged Students in 2 Institutions through #DeviFoundations .I thank the management of -Salem Shakthi Kailash Women’s College & Maharaja Institute of Technology Mysuru (sic)."

During the promotions, he also revealed that part of the collection will go to the welfare of farmers. Vishal had earlier donated the collection of his outing Sandakozhi 2 as well to the farmer's association.

Sharing a glimpse of the tour, Vishal had written on his social media handle, "On a complete tour of Tamil Nadu promoting #Laththi Started with #Trichy, #Madurai, #Salem & #Coimbatore with #Yuvan Now heading to #Karnataka & later to #Kerala, #Andhra & #Telengana #Positive response all across for a grand opening on 22nd Dec #Laatti #LaththiFromDec22nd (sic)."

In the meantime, the film helmed by debutant director A Vinoth Kumar, has got the U/A certificate. The trailer of the film was released recently and Vishal's character seems to be an earnest cop, a Grade I constable called Muruganantham. Going by the trailer, it seems like Vishal's character gets into a life-threatening situation and he has to protect his son as well in the process. Sunaina plays the leading lady and Laththi marks her second collaboration with Vishal after their 2013 film Samar. The release had got inordinately delayed after Vishal got injured on the set multiple times. Laththi will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. The film has been bankrolled by Rana Productions (a collaboration of actors Nandhaa and Ramana).
