Vishal surprises fans with an update on his directorial debut; Thupparivaalan 2 to begin in April

Earlier last year, Vishal and Mysskin had a fallout after which the latter backed off from directing Thupparivaalan 2. Later, the former announced that he will wield the megaphone for the project, which marks his directorial debut as well. However, there hasn't been any major update about the movie till recently.

Vishal has now took to social media to surprise his fans with an update on the much-expected movie. He said that the location hunt for the project will begin from January in London and that the film will go on floors from April.

He tweeted, "Geared up for the Mega HUNT!!! All set for the recce of #Thupparivaalan2 this #Jan2022 in #London. Shoot to commence from #April2022.GB (sic)." He also posted a poster of Thupparivaalan 2 in which two detectives are seen looking at the world map.

Prasanna, who was seen as Vishal's aide in Thupparivaalan (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), is expected to be a part of this project as well. Ilaiyaraaja will compose music for the project which has cinematography by Nirav Shah. It is expected that an announcement on the cast and crew will be made after the recce.

A few months ago, Vishal had said that he can't wait to show the completed film to Ilaiyaraaja. This is the first project which marks the collaboration of Vishal and the music maestro. Vishal himself is producing Thupparivaalan 2 under the banner of Vishal Film Factory.

Meanwhile, Vishal's Veeramae Vaagai Soodum, directed by Thu Pa Saravanan, will hit the screens on January 26. He has Laththi, directed by A Vinoth Kumar, too, in his kitty.
