Vikram Sahidev, the son of popular producer and businessman Sridhar Lagadapati, who shot to fame with his appearances in Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya, Rowdy Boys and Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini, also played the lead role in the teen comedy Virgin Story, that hit screens on February 18, 2022. Sowmika Pandiyan was cast as the female lead for the film directed by Pradip B Atluri.
Rishika Khanna and Vineeth Bavisetty played other important roles in Virgin Story. Sirisha Lagadapati and Sridhar Lagadapati produced the film under Ramalakshmi Cine Creations while Gaurav Lagadapati presented it. The teen saga opened to poor reviews and met with moderate responses at the box office. Nearly 14 months after its theatrical release, the film is set for its OTT premiere.
Telugu OTT platform aha acquired its post-theatrical streaming rights. aha confirmed that Virgin Story would premiere on the platform this Friday i.e. April 21 and unveiled its trailer as well. The story revolves around two teenagers who spend a roller-coaster night, coming across several eccentric, funny characters. Will the couple understand the idea of true love after this experience?

In its review of the film, OTTplay’s critic wrote, “Virgin Story's problem isn't with the lack of effort; it just reeks of amateurishness. In the hands of a filmmaker with more sensitivity and a flair for comedy, it could've been a fun, quirky watch. The film is long by at least 30-45 minutes. There's no doubt about Vikram Sahidev's potential.”
Prior to the release of Virgin Story, the makers said, “Virgin Story is for all teenagers and their parents to understand the mind frame of the younger generation. It talks of feelings and moments that are sure to change our idea of romance, love and life completely.” Achu Rajamani composed the music for the film. Anish Tharun Kumar is the cinematographer and Garry BH is the editor.
Vijay Prakash choreographed the dance sequences while Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar and Anantha Sriram are the lyricists. Uday is the production designer.
