While South African cricketer AB de Villiers initially fueled the speculations about Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma expecting their second child, he later withdrew his statement. In a recent interview, de Villiers mentioned that Kohli's absence from matches was because of his spending some family time, leading many to believe a pregnancy announcement was on the way. This news quickly spread online, generating significant excitement. However, de Villiers later issued a surprising clarification, admitting he shared inaccurate information and apologising for any inconvenience caused to Kohli. The initial excitement has now been replaced by tensions between fans about what is actually happening.

What did the Twitter user claim?

The news triggered further speculation on February 11, when a Twitter user shared four 'facts' about Virat and Anushka's health, alleging challenges in Sharma's second pregnancy. The user also asserted that AB de Villiers' interview remarks were entirely accurate and true, despite the cricketer later retracting his statement and claiming the information to be wrong.

This confirmation came right after BCCI confirmed Virat Kohli’s taking break from the Test Matches through an official statement, which reads, “Virat Kohli will remain unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series due to personal reasons. The Board fully respects and supports Mr. Kohli’s decision.”

Netizens' reactions on the Twitter claim

The Twitter user named Abhishek Tripathi's tweet has sparked a viral frenzy online, particularly his assertion regarding the power couple's pregnancy complications. Speculation has arisen, suggesting that Virat and Anushka are pursuing medical treatment abroad, potentially leading to Kohli's departure from matches. A Reddit thread has garnered significant attention, with many expressing sympathy towards the couple, and advocating for privacy in their personal matters.

However, at the same time, a few netizens have condemned Abhishek Tripathi and his credibility as they commented, “This news totally be fake and made up by him to gather views on Twitter (as he is doing from long time now).
