Actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan has been credited with revitalising Pranav Mohanlal’s career with his biggest hit this year, Hridayam. Now, rumours are rife that the filmmaker could team up with Dulquer Salmaan for his next directorial.
Reports suggest that Dulquer is in discussions for several Malayalam projects for next year, after he completes the shoot of Abhilash Joshiy’s King of Kotha as well as his Tamil and Telugu commitments. These reportedly include movies with Amal Neerad, Soubin Shahir as well as Vineeth.
While there’s no official confirmation regarding the same and neither has Vineeth confirmed the cast of his next directorial, the filmmaker in a recent interview with OTTplay told us that he will begin scripting his next venture in 2023.
Vineeth, meanwhile, is currently focusing on his acting projects. His next release will be Abhinav Sunder Nayak’s dark comedy Mukundan Unni Associates, which also has Tanvi Ram, George Kora and Suraj Venjaramoodu as part of the cast. The movie is set to hit theatres on November 11. Abhinav had previously worked as an associate in Vineeth’s directorials before his turn as an editor.
Dulquer, meanwhile, has hit a purple patch of sorts, churning out three superhits in three languages the past year. His Malayalam film Kurup, grossed over Rs 100 crore in business, while Sita Ramam and Chup were superhits in Telugu and Hindi, respectively.
King of Kotha, which is touted to be a gangster action-entertainer, is also produced by the actor and has Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead. Chemban Vinod Jose essays the antagonist in the movie, which will also have a cameo by a star. The film is currently being shot in Tamil Nadu.
Dulquer is also set for his web series debut with Raj and DK’s Guns and Gulaabs that is expected to drop on Netflix next year. The series also has Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav in the lead roles.
