Malayalam actor Vinayakan has gained a lot of attention for his outstanding portrayal of an antagonist in the Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer. It was previously reported that he received a payment of ₹35 lakhs for his role in the movie, which caused disappointment among netizens and the Malayalam audience, who believed that given the actor’s performance in the movie, he deserved more. However, Vinayakan has now revealed the actual remuneration he received for his work in the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial. The action-comedy film also featured Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Tamannaah, Sunil, Mirnaa Menon and Yogi Babu in key roles.

In an interview with Sark Live Channel, Vinayakan denied earlier reports and stated that he received four times more than the speculated amount. The actor also said that haters were spreading rumours about his pay. According to him, the producers of Jailer provided him with the remuneration he requested and took good care of him during the shoot.

Vinayakan devoted a year to Jailer

Speaking during the interview, Vinayakan expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of Jailer, as he dedicated a year to build the character of Varman. He also praised Rajinikanth for providing him with mental support during the filming process.

“I have never dedicated such a long period of time to any character in my career. Jailer was a great opportunity for me, and I am grateful for it,” Vinayakan elaborated.

Vinayakan in Asif Ali’s crime drama Kasargold

Meanwhile, Vinayakan also plays a key role in director Mridul Nair’s film Kasargold, starring Asif Ali. He essays the character of a corrupt police officer in the crime drama film that revolves around gold smuggling. The movie is said to be inspired by true events that took place in Kerala.

The trailer promises an entertainer, featuring vibrant visuals and psychedelic music. Thallumaala fame Vishnu Vijay has composed music for the film. Kasargold also stars Sunny Wayne, Malavika Sreenath, Deepak Parambol, Geethi Sangeetha and Shine Tom Chacko. The film marks the reunion of Mridul and Asif after their commercial hit, BTech.
