It was announced earlier that actor-filmmaker Saravana Shakthi is making a film with Vimal which has been titled Kulasamy. Tanya Hope of Thadam fame was roped in to play the female lead in the project which has been billed as a rural action flick. The team has now unveiled the first look and motion poster of the film.

The first look has Vimal looking aggressive and twirling his moustache, while the 50-second motion poster has a montage which offers the film's backdrop. This is the third directorial project of Saravana, who shot to fame with his role in Kutti Puli.

Produced by P Ilaya Raja, V Karthikeyan and V Muthukumar under MIK Productions, the first look and motion poster of Kulasamy have been released by Vijay Sethupathi, who has also penned dialogues for the movie. The shooting of the project was wrapped up a while ago and the makers are planning to release it in theatres soon.

Wide Angle Ravi Chandran has handled cinematography for the project which has editing by Gopi Krishnan. Veteran action choreographer Kanal Kannan has composed stunt sequences for the film which has music by Mahalingam and lyrics jointly written by Madhan Karky, Snegan and Va Karupan.

Bose Venkat, retired IPS officer SR Jankid of Theeran Adhigaram Ondru fame, Vinothini and Mahanathi Shankar are essaying crucial roles in the film. Vimal, who has been having a string of flops, finally scored success with his last outing, Vilangu, which had a direct release on Zee5 a month ago. 

The actor's performance, along with a few other elements in it, received appreciation from critics and the audience alike. The actor, who had turned producer with Mannar Vagaiyara (streaming on Zee5), currently has half-a-dozen movies in his kitty.
