Prasanth Pandiyaraj's Vilangu is set for an OTT premiere on February 18 on Zee5. The story of the web series revolves around a sensational murder which happens in a village after which cops have a tough time cracking the case. Vimal plays the lead in the series. He essays Paridhi, a cop, for the first time in his career.

In a short video released by Zee5, the actor spoke briefly about his experience. He said, "This is my first character as a cop. When I heard the story, I was skeptical about playing the role as I wasn't sure if I would be apt for the role. But Prasanth convinced me and explained about my mannerisms in a detailed manner. He has beautifully portrayed the proceedings in a small town police station. After acting for a few days, I felt the character was tailor-made for me."

On her part, Ineya, who plays Vimal's wife in Vilangu, said that her role Revathi is different from the ones she has essayed till date. She said, "I play the concerned wife of a cop, played by Vimal. I'm also a pregnant woman who has been carrying a baby for nine months. I had to ensure that my body language is quite matured and focused on my movements to suit the requirements of the character. I had to prepare a lot and enquired more details on the behaviour and needs of pregnant women. I had to gain a few kilos, too."

Balasaravanan, who also essays the role of a cop in the series, says he has a serious character to play, unlike the regular funny roles. He said, "For a change, there is no humour attached to my character. I play a cop who resorts to third degree torture while questioning suspects. What was challenging is performing in scenes in which I was required to be physically abusive on actors who play suspects."
