Some of the biggest hits in Kichcha Sudeep's career have been remakes of Telugu films and it was also a Telugu film like Eega that gave him national recognition too. The industry has played an integral role in shaping his filmography. Vikrant Rona 3D will be Sudeep's biggest Telugu release in a long time and as part of his whirlwind promotional tour for the film, she spoke to the media in Hyderabad yesterday.
"I've very little to speak because we're making a lot of efforts to let our films speak. It's been four years that my director, brother Anup Bhandari even began writing Vikrant Rona and so much has gone into how to present my character, the way he looks, walks and how would the film feel. Our efforts were going in the right direction until COVID-19 struck us. Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad helped us shoot the film in challenging circumstances. I can proudly say there wasn't a single COVID case in our team," the star said.
"The Vikrant Rona team literally owned the Annapurna studios for nearly three months; there was hardly any staff too. It takes great intentions and effort from the team to make a film and time has been kind to us and we could complete the film expectedly.I thank Vijayendra Prasad sir for gracing the event; it's because of him, SS Rajamouli sir's Eega that I could bring my films here. However, the reason something like an Eega happened is also because of RGV, he has provided me that solid foundation," he further added.
On a parting note, Sudeep shared, "I hope you like the trailer and the film. The trailer that you've watched today on 3D is only 70% of Vikrant Rona, there's something very big in store for July 28. Anup hasn't slept for days to put this trailer together. I've had the pleasure of showing my film to the biggest technicians in the country including RGV. This is our producer Jack Manjunath's biggest film in his career; he hasn't done anything similar before and it'll take an entire day for me to talk about his contribution for this film."
Directed by Anup Bhandari, Vikrant Rona also stars Nirup Bhandari, Jacqueline Fernandez and Neetha Ashok in crucial roles. The film hits theatres on July 28.
