Vikrant Massey to show Ruskin Bond's journey on screen – here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming film

Nobody can deny that Vikrant Massey is one of the most underrated gems of Bollywood. The actor is now turning Ruskin Bond for an upcoming film. For the uninitiated, the Indian writer of British descendant was best known for his work on Indian literature. He wrote books for children.

What is the project?

A report on IANS suggests that Vikrant will collaborate with debutant director Niranjan Iyengar for the movie. The film will bring forth not only the works of but also life of the Indian ‘Bond.’ Apart from this, Vikrant will also be seen in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s movie 12th Fail.

Who is Ruskin Bond?

Ruskin Bond is one of the most popular Indian writers. His first novel, titled The Room on the Roof, was published in 1956. Since then, he has worked on over 500 short stories, novels and essays. This includes 69 books for children too.

Bond has also been honoured with both Padma Shri as well as Padma Bhushan. He got them in 1999 and 2014 respectively. His work, Our Trees Still Grow In Dehra, is also among one of his renowned works. The writer currently lives in Landour, Mussoorie in Uttarakhand.

Vikrant has become one of the most underrated gems of Bollywood. The actor made his acting debut with TV. He was seen in Dhoom Machao Dhoom and a few other shows, including Qubool Hai. The actor then switched to films and became a part of movies like Lootera, Dil Dhadakne Do and A Death In The Gunj. He was the lead actor opposite Deepika Padukone in Chhapaak. However, Vikrant is best remembered for his web series Broken But Beautiful. He was also seen in an important role in the first season of Mirzapur.
