Dheeraj Sarna's The Sabarmati Report stars Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra. The film is based on true events focusing on the Godhra train burning incident of 2002. The incident took place on the morning of February 27, 2002, when a sudden fire broke out on the Sabarmati Express and killed 59 pilgrims and karsevaks who were on their way back from Ayodhya.

Recently, Vikrant had the opportunity to watch the movie with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet members. During Times Network India Economic Conclave, the actor spoke about his experience about the same and said, “Extensive discussions took place, and I believe it’s best to keep the details of the conversations that happened in that chamber confidential. However, I can share that he (PM Modi) thoroughly enjoyed the film and appreciated the effort we put into it.”
The actor also shared that the PM had tears in his eyes after watching the film. “He liked my work… He said, I mean, it’s a compliment that is going to stay with me for the rest of my life,” he added.
For the uninitiated, The Sabarmati Report did not do well at the box office. Talking about the same, Massey said, “See, to each their own. I know there are very different kinds of actors and actresses and people who make films. I’d like to make a small correction here — Sabarmati (Report) is a hit. If you look at the investment, COP (cost of production) and the ROI (Return on investment) then it is a certified hit.”
