Vikram's Thangalaan will be a landmark film, says producer Dhananjeyan

Producer G Dhananjeyan is very upbeat about the upcoming movie Thangalaan, which is headlined by Tamil superstar Vikram. Written and directed by Pa Ranjith, the movie's post-production work is fast nearing completion.

It seems the filmmakers are in the process of kick-starting the promotions. Going by all the signs, the promotional campaign will begin with the teaser launch.

Recently, Ranjith assured fans that the production team will soon start sharing key updates about the movie from next week. And it's now more than clear that the teaser release is just a few days away.

Thangalaan is a period drama

After watching the teaser, Dhananjeyan shared his excitement on his social media page. And he raped up expectations by promoting it to be "Ranjith's finest film."

"I know the story….seen the making & Teaser. Mark my words & preserve this tweet. It will be a landmark film in Tamil Cinema, first best film of 2024 @chiyaan sir’s ultimate performance is going to win him multiple recognition @beemji ‘s finest film in his careerWe at @StudioGreen2 are excited to start the year 2024 with an amazing film, which is going to storm box office," said Dhananjeyan, who is also the CEO of Studio Green.

Thangalaan release plans

Even though the filmmakers have not officially announced the release date, based on Dhananjeyan's tweet, it's safe to assume that Thangalaan will make its theatrical debut during the Pongal holiday in January 2024.

The producers are pinning great hopes on Thangalaan, which is a period drama. The movie is set against British rule in India and it tells the story of a Thangalaan, a village guard and his struggle to protect the rights of the people in his tribe.

While Vikram plays the titular role, the movie also has Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan and Harikrishnan in the supporting cast.
