After facing multiple delays, Gautham Vasudev Menon-directed Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam, starring Vikram, was scheduled to hit the big screen on November 24. However, after a lot of speculations surrounding the film’s financial issues, the director has now shared a disheartening news for Chiyaan Vikram fans - that the spy action film gets further delayed.
Sorry, unable to get Dhruva Natchathiram to the screens today: GVM
Gautham took to his social media page to issue a statement confirming the postponement of the Vikram starrer. He wrote, “Sorry. Unable to get Dhruva Natchathiram to the screens today. We tried our best, but it seems we need a day or two more. Hoping to provide everyone with a great experience with advance bookings and proper screens worldwide. The support for the film is heartwarming and has kept us going. Just a few more days, and we’ll arrive!”
Financial issues mount amid Vikram-starrer Dhruva Natchathiram’s release
According to reports, despite making several efforts to meet the initially scheduled release date, the producers of the film have been struggling to resolve financial issues, which led to the delay of the film’s release. Consequently, the makers have chosen to withdraw from the November 24 release, marking yet another delay in the eagerly awaited Chiyaan Vikram-Gautham Menon collaboration. As a result, the audience will have to endure a further wait for the film’s release.
The director has now been reportedly asked to pay ₹8 crore at the Madras High Court to sort out the financial issues, and has been further informed that the film can be rolled out once the amount is paid.
Tamil Nadu distribution issue pushes the release of Dhruva Natchathiram
Although other distribution partners were confirmed before the release of the Vikram-starrer, the team’s failure to lock a distribution partner in Tamil Nadu has contributed to its postponement for the nth time.
Now the bookings for Dhruva Natchathiram, which were open at overseas theatres, have been put on hold and theatres have allegedly begun the refund process.
Fans shower wishes to the director
Although the news of the film’s postponement disheartened Vikram fans, many netizens praised the Vaaranam Aayiram director for his patience and unwavering commitment to the film. Many users expressed their wishes for the director to promptly resolve his financial issues and promised to support his film wholeheartedly.
