Vikram is one of the most versatile and hard-working actors of the Tamil film industry. The actor is currently basking the success of his recently released film Thangalaan. The film, which released on August 15, was released in the northern belt on August 30.
On the sidelines of promoting his film, Vikram in a podcast, spoke about his favourite Tamil recommendations and one particular film that he would like to do a remake of. In conversation with the TRS podcast, Vikram was asked what would be the four films he would introduce to Tamil cinema for a newbie, to which the actor replied they would be Nayakan, 16 Vayathinile, his own film Raavanan and Uthiri Pookal.
Speaking about 16 Vayathinile, Vikram said, "There is a film called 16 Vayathinile, which is of Kamal Haasan sir's and made by Bharathiraja sir. It is a very raw film and very rustic. It shows the village life in the true sense. It has got Sridevi, and Rajinikanth sir plays the villain. It is an iconic film. I may not remember my dialogues but I remember every line from that film. If I wanted to make a remake, I would love to do a Kamal sir's character. He plays a cripple, and village bumpkin. I don't think even he can recreate that performance of his.”
Vikram was in all praise of the film which featured three stalwarts of the era. “Rajini sir had not yet become a superstar, and Kamal sir was bigger star then. It is a very beautiful film,” he added.
