Hrithik Roshan-Saif Ali Khan’s Vikram Vedha remake is the most expensive film Hrithik has worked in till date. The makers of this film have spent 10 times the amount of the Tamil original movie. However, that was not the original idea from the production’s side, a little birdie tells us.

A report on KoiMoi suggests that while the makers wanted to begin the movie on a budget cut and stay on schedule in order to complete the film within the given budget, that just did not happen. A movie, which was aiming to be made in less than Rs. 11 crores, has now shot up to Rs. 175 crores.

According to BollywoodLife, Director duo Pushkar and Gayathri were more than happy to shoot the film in some lanes of UP. They did the same for the Kollywood film when the duo shot their film in Tamil Nadu’s lanes. However, Hrithik had other ideas in mind. He asked the makers to recreate the sets in Dubai. The actor refused to shoot till that was not done. This reportedly shot the budget up by double (more than Rs. 20 crores).

The original Vikram Vedha, made on a budget of Rs. 11 crores, ended up earning Rs. 60 crores gross at the Box Office. The crime film’s budget has reportedly suddenly shot up because of the demands, to the extent that it beats the budget of even Hrithik Roshan’s WAR. The movie was Hrithik’s costliest movie at Rs. 155 crores but clearly, Vikram Vedha remake has already beat the record.

The Hindi version of Vikram Vedha stars Hrithik and Saif Ali Khan opposite each other. The movie also features Radhika Apte, Rohit Saraf and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles.
