Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil’s Vikram is guaranteed to get a wide release in Kerala, with producer-distributor Shibu Thameens grabbing its theatrical rights in the State. The upcoming action-entertainer, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is set to hit cinema halls on June 3.

This is the second big other-language film for which Shibu has managed to grab the Kerala distribution rights. Earlier this year, his distribution company had scored the Kerala rights for SS Rajamouli’s RRR, starring Ram Charan and NTR Jr.

The big-budget Telugu production, which also has Alia Bhatta and Ajay Devgn, went on to collect Rs 23 crore at the Kerala box office, which was only recently beaten by Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 that was distributed by Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames in Kerala.

Vikram had wrapped up its production on March 2 after 110 days of shoot. The movie, which went on floors in July, was shot extensively in Tamil Nadu. The film is also sure to draw audience in Kerala with it featuring Malayalam stars Fahadh, Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Hareesh Peradi and Chemban Vinod Jose in pivotal roles apart from Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi, who also have a massive fanbase in the State.

Shibu, who had earlier producer Saamy2, took to his social media page to share the update and extend his thanks to Raaj Kamal International for giving him “the opportunity to distribute the film”. The producer was also all praise for its filmmaker Lokesh, who had earlier helmed superhits such as Karthi’s Kaithi and Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi’s Master last year. “Any director, who is a fan, will make a blockbuster,” said Shibu.

Vikram has been an anticipated film since its announcement last year. The movie also has Kannada actress Shanvi Srivastava, who will also be making her Malayalam debut with Mahaveeryar, in a pivotal role.
