When the trailer of Jaane Jaan was unveiled, one particular scene caught everybody’s attention. It is where Vijay Varma’s Karan ends up romancing Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Maya D’Souza. The Sujoy Ghosh directorial, which is inspired from the bestselling novel The Devotion of Suspect X, will release on OTT on September 21. The direct-to-OTT film will start streaming on Netflix.
Vijay Varma with Shehnaaz Gill
Vijay Varma was the latest guest on Shehnaaz Gill’s show, Desi Vibes with Shehnaaz. They spoke about many topics but romancing Kareena Kapoor Khan in Jaane Jaan was specially mentioned. Vijay’s reaction to Saif Ali Khan’s comment was also noted.
Saif asked Kareena to ‘change her working style’
Saif was previously associated with Jaane Jaan with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. After Saif got to know that Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma are a part of the movie, he asked his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, to ‘change her style of working.’ On hearing so, Vijay thanked Saif for his generous comments but also described Kareena as a ‘secured’ actor who knew what she was doing on sets. “Yeh unka (Kareena’s) badhappan hai that she spoke about me and Jaideep this way. It was really not needed from her. To put us on a pedestal… it did feel good,” he said.
Vijay was sweating while romancing Kareena on-screen
As a part of the narrative, Vijay is supposed to be romancing Kareena’s character, Maya D’Souza. He recalled how Kareena would look at him a certain way in the said scene and sing along with it. Calling her extremely beautiful and poignant when she performs, Vijay said, “Jaise woh scene aaya, mere toh paseene chutt gaye. Aap nahi handle kar sakte.” He praised her ‘adaa,’ which left him a nervous wreck when trying to romance her in the film.
Why Jaane Jaan is special
Jaane Jaan marks Kareena Kapoor Khan’s OTT debut. The film is inspired from Keigo Huganshino’s Japanese novel The Devotion Of Suspect X. The movie’s name was not revealed for the longest time and now the Sujoy Ghosh directorial will stream directly on Netflix from September 21. The movie also stars Jaideep Ahlawat as one of the leads. He plays a martial arts teacher named Naren, who is neighbours with Maya and friends with Karan.
