Vijay Sethupathi-hosted MasterChef Tamil to take off on August 7, watch the new promo

Vijay Sethupathi's second reality show on the small screen after Namma Ooru Superstar, the Tamil adaptation of the globally famous culinary show MasterChef will go on air starting August 7. The show, to be aired on Saturday, Sunday between 9.30 pm and 10.30 pm on Sun TV every week, can be simultaneously viewed on the OTT platform SunNXT. MasterChef Tamil was officially launched in Bengaluru recently amid the presence of its celebrity host Vijay Sethupathi and show producer Saravana Prasad, founder of Innovative Film Academy. The promo of the show was unveiled today.

The icing on the cake with the launch of MasterChef Tamil being - the first episode of the show will mark the completion of 500 on-air episodes under the MasterChef brand across the globe. Announcing the same, Saravana Prasad expressed his happiness of launching the Tamil version of the internationally acclaimed show. Some of the other guests at the event included Abhishek Rege (Endemol Shine India) besides the representatives of its sponsors VML Karthikeyan (Butterfly-title sponsor), Alankar Pandian (Invenio Origin) and Ishari K Ganesh (Vels University) to name a few.

The show brings together many home cooks who will compete for the coveted MasterChef of Tamil Nadu title in the kitchen. Meanwhile, the Telugu version of MasterChef is hosted by actress Tamannaah Bhatia, who has already begun shooting for the show. However, there's is no update from the makers about the telecast of the Telugu version, which will be aired on Gemini TV and stream on SunNXT. Two films of Vijay Sethupathi are gearing up for a small-screen premiere. The long-delayed Kaidisi Vivasayi releases directly on OTT, while his other film, Tughlaq Darbar, will have a global television premiere.
