Vijay Sethupathi launches Good Night star Manikandan's next. See photos

Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi was the chief guest at the movie launch of actor-writer Manikandan's next. Sethupathi, who has been making headlines across the country for his upcoming collaboration with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Kha in Jawan , took out some time from his busy schedule to support the small-budget movie, which will be headlined by Manikandan. 

The untitled project will have Sri Gouri Priya as the female lead. She recently made a mark with her performance in Amazon Prime Video's Tamil anthology Modern Love: Chennai. The movie will be helmed by Prabhuram Vyas. Besides playing the lead role, Manikandan has also co-written the movie.

Manikandan is now basking in the success of his last movie Good Night. Written and directed by debutant filmmaker Vinayak Chandrasekaran, the movie was bankrolled by Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment. The same production companies are also bankrolling this project. 

Good Night is a feel-good movie and it told the story of a man suffering from a snoring problem. While it may seem like a problem that doesn't require one to lose sleep over it, the movie explores how this seemingly small issue can give a man and his family members sleepless nights. 

In Good Night, Manikandan essayed the role of an average Joe, who lives a life of contentment with his 9-to-5 corporate job. His life only gets better when he marries a girl he likes. His life looks perfect in the daylight, but when he falls asleep, his dream-life fall apart. His snoring problem plays on his insecurities, causing a rift in his relationship with his wife. The movie was well received at the box office and it also reached a wider audience when it made its digital debut on Disney+Hotstar last month .
