It looks like Thalapathy Vijay is one of the first persons to have watched Superstar Rajinikanth's latest outing, Jailer. The actor is all praise for the film and appreciated the film's director Nelson Dilipkumar, with a simple text, "Congratulations. Super happy for you." Talking about the same, the film's director told a YouTube channel. "The moment he saw the film, he sent the text."

Interestingly, Vijay and Nelson Dilipkumar had worked together in Beast (2002), which opened to negative reviews at the box office. When asked if Vijay was upset about the same, Nelson Dilipkumar revealed Vijay's reaction to it.

"When I asked him if he was angry with me for the Beast debacle, he simply said, 'Yov.' Later he asked why he would be angry with me? When I told him that the film has received mixed reviews, he said, " See, we made a film with utmost sincerity and put in some genuine effort into it. Some people liked it and some didn't. What can we do? Let's do it differently next time. He also asked if our relationship was merely restricted to a film, and that hit me hard. After watching Jailer, he was one of the first people to text me."

Jailer, which marks Rajinikanth's comeback after his last release Annaththe, which opened to negative reviews, has been breaking one record after the other. The latest we hear is that the film is shattering many records overseas as well.

Jailer is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures. Though the film's FDFS in Tamil Nadu began only at 9am, there has been no decline in footfalls in theatres.
